Ensuring a good night sleep

Its time to sleep but you just can’t sleep. Habitual inability to sleep or insomnia is a symptom that needs a clear medical investigation. Insomniacs are prone to accidents, weakened immunity and depression. Also, they tend to crack under pressure. Foods can be disruptive right before sleep; stay away from those large meals close to bedtime. Also, dietary changes cause sleep problems. There is nothing more refreshing than a good night’s sleep. Making the sleep environment pleasant and relaxing will help in a good night sleep. Establishing a regular bed time, not watching TV before going to bed will improve your sleep environment. A warm bath before hitting the sack would also do well to you.

A home with things not on its place is always unsafe to children. You could have probably seen them breaking the TV remote control or taken a mouthful of detergent. For little children it is difficult to understand life’s problem until they know what to do. Family co-operation is very much needed in attaining home safety like putting away appliances, chemical or equipment at the right place after use.

What kids sometime think to be an adventure may turn out to be a misadventure. Children unattended in house could result in breakage of some household items or even result in accidental deaths. Even if you want to shop for five minutes do not leave young children unattended. Little ones also chew and swallow almost anything. Parents should be very careful when buying playthings etc for kids.

Elderly people sometime slip in the bathroom and may end up in an injured hip or spine. This would put them in the bed or in the wheelchair for the rest of their life. A home with elderly people should have adequate lighting and hand grips in the bathroom and around stairs. Proper gripping and good slippers will help them move in and around the house without much difficulty.

It also distorts time sense and disorients the drinker.

Heavy drinks would easily spoil the liver in a course of time. This is the reason why alcohol and smoking is considered to be the number one cause for most of the diseases. It also affects people mentally. Many who committed suicide are found taken alcohol before making that decision. So it is wise not to drink, even if you want to make sure that you know your limits.
